Bioluminescence is one of nature’s most impressive and unique phenomena in the region. It is light emitted by certain organisms which transform chemical energy into light energy. It is observed in insects and fungi, but it can also be found in bodies of water, generally in aquatic ecosystems.
In all its forms, this phenomenon plays a significant role in marine environments. Bioluminiscent bacteria are part of the food chain and many organisms depend on them for survival.
This tour begins with pristine views and hikes through lush green forests during the day and ends on a glorious beach at sunset with the magic of bioluminescence.
DESCRIPTION
We leave from the pier of Tambor towards Pochote Beach to appreciate the exuberant mangrove forest in the estuary, an area with abundant marine ecosystems. At sunset, as the sun goes down, you can relax on a white sand beach and enjoy a refreshment before witnessing bioluminescence.
